poets speak of...

by Charlie Morgan

poets speak of an evening moon's glow
over a deep but silk-smooth pond,
purple-going-lavender casting white reflections.

such is this love i have for you
bound by the tuesdays...and the smiles
of companionship everlasting.

and found is essence of being
in a morning vanity's image
of our winsome habituation.

as a night's slumber invigorates
our hope of tomorrows to come,
we smile as we chew life's reality.

and i could never be more
than i am when i'm with you
nor would i want to be.

Author's Note: on the 35th year of marriage, she's still my princess bride, and i pay homage for her letting me live...and with her! I will never know how much she means to me because I am just a man.

Absolutely beautiful reflection of what IS the very heart of this passionate and compassionate LOVE which transcends the boundaries of mood and circumstance. This is a true love poem.

Congratulations to you and Patsy, Chaz and for this lovely love poem. That last phrase in your author's note has much truth in it... for me that is. And your last verse is poignant and beautiful, you amiable man.

'we smile as we chew life's reality. and i could never be more than i am when i'm with you'...a beautiful depiction of what love is. A conscious love. An active companionship.

this is a wonderful tribute, Chaz, to your wife and to the relationship that you share...
