Early September 2005 by Maureen Glaudetwo small boys on
a Sunday afternoon in Ottawa
jump into mud puddles
to splash one another
and themselves
as their parents watch
from a safe distance.
The entire family laughs
at the messy play.
My eyes are seeing
children in New Orleans
submerged, and
survivors facing filth. 09/06/2005
