Who is it?(Ponderance)

by Vimal Rony

Into the night i walk feeling the loneliness.
Is it a path to no where or is it a baggage
of the relentless turmoils that gather to
pull me down to the ravine where storms
at night lurk to make me jittery to think
of a moment where future freezes?

When the tremor within knocks the consciousness
out of an already bludgeoned sense of direction
the moon in all it's glory wakes me up
and says son move on before the dawn
fades out the light within your crippling soul.

As the parched lips parted for the thirstingly flickering tongue
to lick the dew out of an obediently flexible leaf
I am stung by an instinctive ant who didn't savour a lick.
With a swollen lip to accompany the swollen heart
I move on through corridors of confusion.
Head in place but a heart misplaced.

Suddenly a surge of warm energy rubs on me
pushing my soul into a rhythmic high.
As it beats the melody of a long lost love song that once was
the anthem for tightly knit souls that now live only in fairy tales
I realise I've just entered the tranquil zone within a beautiful heart
that lay abandoned on the sidewalks of love's one way street.

It's owner unknown, i still seek the face.

Nice to see you posting again! I love how this goes through a progression into being more uplifting -- but then that last line still adds a bit of poignancy (if that is a word) to it. A brilliant final line.

This is absolutely beautiful. An amazing journey to tell.

"Suddenly a surge of warm energy rubs on me pushing my soul into a rhythmic high...I realise I've just entered the tranquil zone within a beautiful heart that lay abandoned on the sidewalks of love's one way street. It's owner unknown, i still seek the face" - amidst all the ugliness of the external, all the confusion and the darkness we do sometimes stumble upon beauty, nameless, faceless, in a moment of accidental presence. Most people walk on having hardly recognized it as WHAT IS or if they do cannot remain there to merge with such a priceless treasure. You have, at the very least, acknowledged its presence. Now it is a matter of turning belief into KNOWING. That's what I saw. This was well written and the images wonderfully sewn. Nicely done. :-)

''I realise I've just entered the tranquil zone within a beautiful heart that lay abandoned on the sidewalks of love's one way street. It's owner unknown, i still seek the face.''\Yes, you seem to have walked into this space of time, where the time slows down and you start SEEING. Rula has summed up this state of BEING nicely by using not many words:Now it is a matter of turning belief into KNOWING.Yes, its just a question of BEING. The KNOWING will follow.

Beautiful write Vimal. Has all the weight of a heavy heart on a lonley night. "I move on through corridors of confusion. Head in place but a heart misplaced". Great line.

"of a moment where future freezes?" My favorite line. Your poem latches onto my mind and heart and forces me to travel with you for a few moments. Your images and feelings cause a tenderness and longing in me. Beautiful poem, Vimal.
