but let me explain

by Ginette T Belle

I love you
but not like final result love
after you've seen me on the toilet love
wrapped up in the sheets, sweating from the heat love
naked in the kitchen, reaching for the tuna love

So I love you
elegant dinner, dew rain before dusk love
steaming up the booths at Jason George love
eyes bleeding into mine and dying there love
sickeningly sweet and blah, blah, blah love

I love you
but it won't be love 10 years later
it'll be an enchanting spell
that at the time could only be described as
this enigmatic feeling
burning as you drink it down, down, down...

Love "but let me explain" - intoxication indeed. I thought this flowed so well and the effect was on target. Nice :-)

regarding the why you begin to hate a thing when only the day or so before you loved it so, I think is a matter of our oscillating natures, to feel one thing about a thing one moment, then feeling quite another thing for the thing the next moment, which is not necessarily describing an inconsistency in our makeup but it sheds light on our complexity to feel the gamut of emotions concerning the things we create. I must say I quite identify with this ode. it is lovely and curious in so many ways.
