this is the introduction... honey

by Morgan D Hafele

you're nothing but a memory
-and-
it's all about forgetting, honey.

i sit in a pool of bleach because i can't stand the feeling of your skin dusting my body- and i wait for my flesh to burn slowly away drifting from my bones to the surface of this puddle mocking my screaming eyes stealing every last -peace- of my mind away on long forgotten kisses with a name i can't remember...

she must have been
gorgeous
to do this to me.

Author's Note: this is the epitome of self loathing...

...ringggg-ooo, morgan on the self-loathing thingee, ahh have room for two in that boat?...lovely lil' diatribe of "stuff" that like thoreau said, we all live lives of quiet desperation...i agree with denny on the uses of peace vs. piece...good turn o' phrase...peace, chaz

I love the dichotomy in the first two lines, setting the stage for an (pardon the pun echoe) unforgettable piece of poetry, although experience tells me, you'll never forget her name...or face, no matter how much bleach is applied to the wound. Good work sir.

Eventually undesirous associations turn into self loathing as associations are so difficult to die.

i like that last stanza.. it's funny, isn't it? hindsight and the ridiculous things we've done, the amazing extent to which we've felt things and in the end sometimes we only wish we could forget it all..

"gorgeous" depends on your state of mind. At certain times of the month, I can find a chocolate pie quite gorgeous. of course, I have to use aerobics instead of bleach to get rid of it.

I think it was the ending that really did it for me. This is brilliant.

I never commented on this, but it was added to my favorites some time ago; I thought you should know.
