An ode to my soul

by Traci Mabats

I have spent years
building for
a life I
will never own
It's foundation now
cracked under the
weight of resentment
and stained by bitter tears
that have since run dry
Even the weeds have
been choked out
in this barren house
that once was
my soul

I love a good rant, and yours has restored my faith in those who still have enough fortitude to get up on the ol' soapbox and profess their deepest darkest secrets. Moreover, it must be comforting to know that there are still a handfull of like-minded, floundering, souls out there that pretend to bend an ear. We can't fix a darn thing, you know, but we can cock our heads, give you our most perplexing raised brow, and say ~ uhh, OK, whateverrrrr!!!!! Good stuff, Sharona. pe4ce...

Good use of metaphor to express human emotion. :o)
