A cigarrette burns
much slower than love
though a raindrop
can extinguish
smoldering tobacco
Teardrops can dampen a soul.

Author's Note: i learned when i was a little kid a cigarrette lighter can make a burn in the shape of a smiley face. i learned when i was 18 that a cigarrette tends to calm me down. i learned last night even a confused heart can put out an entire pack of cigarrettes without you knowing it.
