Author's Note: Initally written as a haiku, or senryu. Inspired by a news story about an airline pilot who had to be forcibly removed from the cockpit because he was drunk. When leaving the airplane he made the middle-finger gesture (colloquially known as "the bird"). The current "form" was only added as an afterthought to highlight the gesture.

Posted by Graeme Fielden on 07/19/05 at 02:15 AM this is clever, David. There's lots implied by your few, well chosen words. Thanks for sharing. |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 07/19/05 at 02:29 AM LOL! Excellent tongue in cheek humor, with the help of concrete poetic form. Touché David! |
