apple of your eye by Kimberly Barei have been displaced
picked from my solitary branch
to be
tossed among the bushel
waiting for a gentle hand
to choose me
from many
take me to a sacred place
and cherish my sweetness
before tossing
my seeds to the wind
to let me take root
