T-Cell- God is on Both Sides of a Rusty Coin by Curt Alldaythe landscape is riddled with mice
they travel in packs
they nibble on
loose pieces of cheese left to crumble
from the top of a mountain where all is god
all is glorious, curious, a far reaching
ever deepening dedication to faith
that presses your suit, irons out the wrinkles
in your tie tying around a freshly shaven neck
wrecked and rambling he sits with
a fresh pot of stew warming himself on the beach
recollecting the nightmares as his breath
catches fire as the cigarette burns, the ideologies turning
new leaves into new grief and yet
the almighty is some adhesive
keeping him together, holding him to the
flames of righteousness, refraining from
the temptations
while the mansions are pickled
sweet and sour with the cross hung
for all to see and gossip about its origins
it keeps them humbled
them, the people, witness facades
the icebergs crashing into the citadels
in a fury of symphonies and organs
the young man is dying slowly
his T-cell count
is ravaged and his body is being degraded
into the face of humantity
a shell of spirit
a statistic on the charts
to coerce the men in the mansions
to cut another check
mic check, hello,
is this thing on?
is this thing on? 06/27/2005 Author's Note: The concept of God helps the politicians at the top present themselves as wholesome, it may even help in their daily routine, while the concept of God, the suffering theology of S. American countries and the poor, help them through their own sufferings, the idea that heaven awaits them...and then there is the dying, they too use God to make it through another day...just an observation...the use of a deity to justify existence at every socioeconomic status, in the caste system..
