Blues Are Always Easier (When You're Not Here) by J. P. DaviesCreep out between the strings,
in augmented sevenths, and dischords.
Burn the tune down.
Ghost notes speak volumes,
misinterpret and mis-fret,
Try in vain to construct a progression,
a lick, a riff, to encapsulate.
And I fail, and strum a familiar strain,
Blues are always easier,
when you're not here.
