shrew you

by Michele Schottelkorb

If you could see my face
Picture this, a dark sad place
Muddled with bleak adore
Thrashing on an endless floor
One small click and I’m dead
Floating through your empty head
Ire here, fury there
Pulling out my feeble hair
So weary of this ancient quest
Sup my blood; take your best
For I love you, this is true
Beat me down; tame this shrew

Intense Michele, very much so. The title seems to be a bit of play on words to me, I feel it is subtly defiant as the end of the poem too contains sarcasm within the sadness and frustration that is so evident, "For I love you, this is true Beat me down; tame this shrew" - it's sad how easily we can take one another for granted, take advantage. This is an excellent and well-worded superbly rhyming way to express that sadness and frustration. Very well done Michele!

Shrew? hahaha Mymy, Am I so insensitive to derive a laughter from this projected image of yours? But I do, despite the frustration which found expression in this poem. Despite this vent of anger which does deflect in the form of a sarcasm and does succeed in generating some humor. Your title does. And the visuals, they are humorous.

A lyrically well-written, somewhat angst ridden vent here Michele. I hope you're feeling better for getting this out on paper :)

Rula is right, this is intense. And I envy your rhyming without losing the intensity. The rhythm & rhyme make this profound.

The clever title lured me in and OMG! If I was teaching a poetry class I would read this to the class. If I were teaching a grad psych class, I'd read this poem. You are incredible, Michele.
