Early Summer

by Paganini Jones

in the sycamore tree
a blue-tit's nest.
black cat watches

amidst great pleasure
often the memory of sorrow

early summer sunshine
warms the garden.
peony buds start to open

Words on the page
sometimes speak to the heart

high against clear blue sky
a lark sings.
A child laughs and claps her hands.

Author's Note:
Not really a renga, too long to be tanka. Maybe its (just) a poem, or marks on a page pointing to something else?

All excellent Heather! Can't decide on a favourite, and suits me just fine. :o)

Maybe a poem is more than good enough. Enjoyable read

I like the imagery here. Beautiful flow. Very nice.
