On Keeping My Love A "Secret" From You

by Amy Wustrin

I know you know
You're not as imperceptive
As I let you fool me into believing
You can read between the lines
As easuly as I can write there

But you also know
I will never admit it outright
I will only drop hints
Into a bucket in your head
Where you keep the rest
Of my veiled outbursts

Becasue I stand to lose too much
When you remind me that what we're doing here
Is not a romance
And I really have no business
Feeling these things in the first place

You can't take it back once it's out there
It will simply loom overhead
Shadowing everything after
And you wont like it at all
And I'll just cry a lot

SO I won't come out and say it
I'm more like my mother than I care to acknowledge in that way

But I just have to say
That I konw you know
And knowledge is *power*

I agree that knowledge is power, but it is in its practical application that seems to resonate more powerful here. Good stuff, Amy. pe4ce...
