oxymoron

by Bradd Howard

I'm an ox
you're a moron
I'm too stubborn to forget the way I feel about you
and you're too stupid to tell the difference.

Well this was like nothing I expected at all! hahaha I did find myself laughing as soon as I finished it. Though now I'm rereading, and well I'm feeling a shift in mood in relation to its meaning, "I'm an ox you're a moron I'm too stubborn...you're too stupid" - beneath the joke that is so well told is a sad statement isn't it? The ox and the moron, well neither of them know any better do they? Very nicely done Bradd, I am amazed how this piece could bring forth in me such two opposing poles of emotion. I would call this a good dose of dark comedy, well written, well stated. Sad.

read a couple of your poems now. you're almost too clever for your own good- almost. you pull it off exactly how you need to. this is that perfect punch of poetry; you have a startling economic ability with your words. i enjoyed this a lot... going to read more.
