the Lasting

by Michele Schottelkorb

finalize a teardrop incision
upon the bloodline of my heart
cast aside a book of battles
nestle within our chosen part

playing tag does not equate
my ever quest for you
for this day, our union day
to our selves we must be true

you bring into crystal view
a woman never seen before
with this ring, I thee wed
to your senses I implore

that I love you, down to bone
mix our blood with passion dust
never shall I leave your side
even should our quarters rust

know this true and very well
my spirit bonded to your core
hand in hand we walk the line
through every ephemeral door

Michele, I do not fear that the sun will burn itself out, for we have your passion and it burns eternal in our hearts.

Congratulations Michele. And to your husband too...this is a cool tribute: and bonding...a spell? ;)

'my spirit bonded to your core hand in hand we walk the line through every ephemeral door'....these lines reflects the greater understanding love forms part of.This is a long process and you seem to have gone through. Its here where lovers are no lovers, they are part of love which in turn is part of a greater understanding.

Those opening lines are what really got me...so romantically haunting...truly invigorating and uplifting... hope all is well with you.
