The One I Will Marry

by Jeffrey Parren

Her beauty
Only surpassed
Her mental acuity
We discussed
We debated
We argued
All in good fun
My implosion began
As her questioning
Made me fall
My mindÂ’s eye
Blinked
Her intelligence
Bright eyes
Blinding
Thought processes flickered
Shades protected
My eyes
My mind
Helpless

Jeffrey, you took the word "flicker" and flew to beautiful extremes with it. Great work!
