the thing about ugly people

is no one likes to admit they exist.
We shimmy and shy away from it,
dismiss it as "impolite conversation"
and move on.
But my theory is, if we talked about them
(you know, the ugly ones, the fat ones,
the ones who we just cast our eyes downwards,
as they walk past)
then maybe,
just maybe,
they'd understand my motive
for Global Suicide. 05/19/2005 Author's Note: The thing about ugly people, is while physical beauty is given much emphasis in our society, the only ugly ones are the people who are ugly on the inside. This poem was not writen to hurt those who see themselves as ugly. And while I know some people dislike the fact that I wrote it, I won't delete it.
