Depending by Maureen GlaudeHollow shell
pulp scooped away
seeds dug out and scattered
but the exterior
still sports a color and shape
calls attention -
semblance of a history
a light put on
inside
may make a shadowy glow
upon the markings
of a face
funny, tragic or menacing
depending on
the carve
