tablescraps. by Andrew S Adamstablescraps sit idly
abandoned by the glutton
in favor of richer things;
he demands diamonds on the crown
while these are mere pieces of coal left
for the dogs-
that is
until the dogs walk past,
and see the real value-
then, and only then will the glutton
realize that these are diamonds yes,
but diamonds not fit for his majesty-
and, like any good monarch,
inconsiderate and blissfully ignorant
he will throw these inferior stones
right into the sea-
saving the dogs the trouble
of finding out what is
not fit for a king. 04/30/2005 Posted on 05/01/2005 Copyright © 2025 Andrew S Adams
