A Tension

by Glenn Currier

Are our most crucial battles
on Baghdad's streets
and the alleys of Tikrit?

Or in our offices,
kitchens and cafes
where we fight

our coworkers, family, and friends
to reposition their ears
to receive incoming volleys

from the embattlements
of our closed minds
and open mouths?

This is a question that is hard to decide on, neither is good. Well done Glenn..Charlie

Such wonderful (hidden?) wordplay in this - the possibility of "a tension" and "attention" so prevalent in the battles fought abroad and within. Excellent subject and word choice!
