Big Blue Butterfly Tattoo by Quinlan L Gibson
Pain to cover the old, make new.
My big blue butterfly tattoo
It ended at last, three hours had passed
Youd never known it was there.
The huge mistake, the give and take
needles bleeding me out.
Its torture was like no other, ex lover,
The only thing good was the artist that would
Was my friends hot young brother.
Symbolic, Im free.
No brandings haunt me, meant to be
Blue coolness and one of a kind
Touching design, meticulous time
effort aligned with the stars, no more scars.
Not to hide; the secret inside and buried.
so lost among the beauty that drew
my big blue butterfly tattoo.
04/15/2005 Author's Note: it's finally over, finally covered. Like it was never there. To Devin, who may never get to read this, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You think you just did a fantastic tattoo, but really you erased a lifetime of pain.
forever grateful.....qg

Posted by Jeffrey Parren on 04/15/05 at 08:29 PM I love the piece...and on a side note, it is symbolic that you chose blue instead of red or orange, especially for a butterfly. Being blue, it shows that erasing that past is a calming affect, and not one that the tattoo represents something out of anger, yet it shows how you have grown and moved on, and now with that covered, you are at peace with the past and can look forward to happiness. I am a tattooed person myself, and all mine have great, deep meaning, so I understand what it means for you to have done what you did. A great honor to your ink, your inked body, and your tattoo artist, Devin! ~JPP |
