to whom it may concern - or not by Laura DoomToday I am sorry
that I have effected injury
or caused offence
and you assumed
this was my intention
that rather than approach me
you have chosen
to reproach my poetry
that this anonymous attribution
offers no resolution
beyond retribution
and most of all
that my insensitivity
is taken as hostility
the consequence of which
wages nothing more or less
than poetic justice. 04/12/2005 Posted on 04/12/2005 Copyright © 2024 Laura Doom

Posted by Rula Shin on 04/12/05 at 04:03 PM Hmmmm...very interesting...cryptic though simultaneously CLEAR. It is sad when actions are not actions at all but mere 'reactions', for this is how we choose "retribution" over "resolution". But insensitivity is not deserving of retribution. Nothing is truly deserving of that since this "reaction" implies only a weakness of mind, for why should I worry about your insensitivity if I know myself, and am happy with who I am to begin with? |
Posted by Ashok Sharda on 04/14/05 at 02:01 PM Well, an action which offers no resolution but retribution is in fact a reaction. Its better to feel sad rather than reacting. I will treat this poem as an ACTION in response to the reaction in question. feel sad Laura . Feel happy that you are sad. |

this is so on the money,. and more than Caesar ever was on Roman currency. |
Posted by Max Bouillet on 05/10/05 at 01:51 PM Poetic justice has turned to vigilantism. Guerrilla warfare tactics and poetic insurrectionists become the norm in a world gone crazy. :) |
