A poem that evokes questions and strives for concretes yet doesn't need them. Great poem Chaz... ~JPP |
Posted by Rula Shin on 04/13/05 at 07:47 PM Charlie, this is a wonderful piece. So simple in its form, and there is a beautiful message here that is rich in its simplicity though this may seem to be a contradiction, though I see it so clearly. "I didn't want to make you realize me...I just wanted you to realize...And I never wanted you to welcome love as an answer... just wanted you to welcome love" - what I see here is the radiance intentions when they are beautiful and meaningful. Not REACTIONS that are chemically driven or self serving, but ACTIONS that are intentional and giving. The simplicity of LOVE is that it exists beyond the realm of courting and pure emotional highs and lows. The beauty of love is very much in its simplicity, the underlying understanding between two beings, evident contradiction being the RICHNESS and DEPTH of such pure simplicity, such deep understanding...the contradiction being the RARITY of such LOVE. You see I believe it is so difficult for a human to love so simply, so fully, without riding the emotional tides of whim, without fullfilling his own needs without thought of the other's. This is why this piece of yours if beautiful Charlie. It is not a plea for love, nor a jumble of lavish words dripping thick with rhetorical honey. It is simply a confession, a revelation. An acceptance of helplessness. A SURRENDER of the most beautiful kind. It is simply, a love poem. So nicely done Charlie. That's what I saw :-)
