I'm Such An April Fool by Amy WustrinIt's just another lonely day
On the accoutable side of crazy
I see every mood swing coming
But I can't make it stop
I just can't turn this thing around
There's a summer rainstorm on the horizon
The kind that threatens and teases for hours
Looming ominously overhead,
Growing darker and angrier as it builds
The trees will be still
The birds will be silent in anticipation
But even still, the people will be stunned
When that first clap of thunder
Bursts the sky wide open
And the streets immediately flood
Strangers will run for shelter
And huddle close together
Under store front awnings
Or hurry to their cars
So afraid and startled
By some falling water
I've never had enough sense
To come in out of the rain
Lighting could strike me
And I'd just lay right down
While the drops soothed my skin
If they could see the displays
My mind can put on
They'd realize how merciful
