Break Away

by Maureen Glaude

One of his few experiences of pleasure
after three weeks' hospitalization
the cool air of a spring outing -
an ambulance trip
to another hospital

...by golly maureen, that's looking at the bright side of things, silver lining kind or thingeee, does give one pause for thought of things being "relative"... poignant glimpse of a moment...nicely done...peace, chaz

Ditto on Charlie's comment. No matter how bad things get, our higher powers always find ways to balance things out.

I had a similar couple experiences where I was the one to enjoy the rapture of one, seeing the outside world after not seeing it for two weeks, two, for being wheeled out onto the sidewalk in front of the hospital to get me some fresh May air, and three, to take me to an Institute for physical rehab, in an ambulance! I relate to this poem very much, and it reminds me of days where staying alive was my only goal in the morning...very well written.
