Hope Springs Eternal by Heide McAlister-BatesDamp, grey days persist
though it's meant to be
spring.
The weak light casts
a pallor over the
city,
masking the promise of
new beginnings in a dingy
cloak of dullness.
You and me, we're like
daffodils in the dark -
Glorious and golden
in the light of day,
pale,spectral,wanting
in the gloaming.
Oh, but when the sun shines.
When the sun shines... 03/28/2005 Author's Note: Ah, Spring - when the weather gets warmer and poets go mad...
