Peeps by Mary Ellen Smiththose little marshmallow peeps
colored in sugar, fine.
dusted in yellows
some very sweet mallows
soon you will be all mine.
I see you there in the basket
your little dark eyes call to me.
nestled there in the green
your sugar a sheen
you are all that a good treat should be.
the jelly beans look kind of pretty
the chocolate bunny there doesn't look bad,
but its you like I said
may I bite off your head?
you know that its make me so glad!
now for nutrition the facts aren't debated.
total carbs, thirty three grams a lot.
but you are fat free
a bonus for me
because of the cases and cases I bought!

Posted by Shonda Creemer on 03/26/05 at 01:01 AM I am laughing so hard right now! My Momma has bought those dreaded little suger-monsters for me my entire life. When I was younger, it was all innocent and such ~ but as I grew older and began to detest the fluffy guys, beggin her to stop giving them to me ~ Momma was just bein cruel. Cruel I tell ya. So here I am, 30 years old and I can guarantee you that come Sunday ~ I will get some peeps. My Momma would absolutely love this poem! Happy Easter Mary Ellen! :) |
