Have you found Jesus?

by Mary Ellen Smith

Their grandmother bought them a plastic nativity scene.
It was there under the tree when their chubby lil legs
ran them in after the long ride.
They played with it for months after that
moving the figures about
playing the games that children play.

And then one day in March
They couldn't find all the pieces and
their two voices could be heard through out the house...

Jesus!
Jesus!

Room to room

Jesus!
Jesus!

The younger one called out...
Hey Brendan! Have you found Jesus yet?

Wonderful Mary Ellen. I enjoyed this story, that definitely has deeper meanings. True happiness and joy begin and end with Jesus.

While a whimsical, humorous anecdote, it has a serious message for the reader.

I agree with Quentin's comment; a well expressed anecdote with a strong message that can be taken as both comical and serious. One of your best IMO Mary Ellen. Adds to favorites.
