Never

by Charles E Minshall

I always want you
Right by my side,
I've so much love
For you inside.

Don't ever leave me
Don't ever go,
A life without you
I never want to know.

A life without you
How sad that would be,
A life without you
I never want to see.

You write for those of us who have had to deal with the mate leaving (dying). Traumatic experience to say the least. You write it with gentle sympathy.

Awwww, Charlie... you've made me laugh and be serious, now this poem brought up tears. It's so beautiful. Thank you, my friend.

I like how this poem is almost the exact opposite of my Distance Valentine piece. :o)

Poetry is the aspirin for loveaches --and this is great medicine.
