Memory

by Kate Demeree

In those dark hours
When our possessions mean naught
All we have to hold to
Are the memories we have wrought

Warm, willing captive
Will I ever be
In the softer shadows
Where you still
Hold me

Poignant...powerful in its brevity and message. I especially like how each stanza stands on its own as a separate entity, while at the same time playing off of one another. Kudos!

so very true, thoughts I've had come home so strongly to me in the last month especially. Excellent, Kate.
