blind.

by Andrew S Adams

as the passers by bypass her lies
she is all but worn out from this
futile attempt to reconcile her
scattered collections of thoughts
strewn about the pavement for
anyone to see; so lost and helpless
but too proud to see for herself,
she relies on the eyes of others,
who despise her every word
her own lack of eyes prevents
the intake of this reception
leaving her to trust everyone
when none can be trusted,
refusing to accept and adapt
this is her vice and it forever
condemns her.

Author's Note: this is from a play that i'm writing; it was originally a monologue.
