miami nights by Carolyn Covillein your yellow convertible,
we pass by unfamilar, deco-designed buildings,
illuminated in green, red, blue
tanned bodies browse the streets,
couples and friends sip icy martinis on restaurant patios
lush, tall palm trees rustle in the light wind
the pink, orange sun fades into the city lights,
yet the air is still saturated with warmth
you drive too fast, but i don't complain;
words are rarely exchanged, but they don't need to be. 07/05/2004 Posted on 02/06/2005 Copyright © 2024 Carolyn Coville

Posted by Michelle Angelini on 01/05/06 at 09:58 AM Carolyn, your rainbow of color images makes me think of the one I saw the other day after it rained here in LA. It balances the unemotional tenor of the ending lines.
