The Whiten

by Charles E Minshall

Around noon night,
In the dawning dark,
The silent call of the whiten
Awakens all who sleep through it.

Author's Note: The whiten is of course the raven...Charlie

Shades of Poe! He would have loved this I think. Paradox and ambiguity extraordinary in a direct and succinct manner.

This is like inverted poetry, Charlie. This may be your finest work, I like it a lot and I mean that right-side-up. Pe4ce...

An pleasantly unexpected twist in your poetic journey Charlie, and a refreshing one at that. Kudos!

Love this Charlie, just as much as I love ravens. They are fantastic birds - you're a fantastic poet! (I don't even need the knife and the butter) ;-)

Not your usual levity but the wordplay is still brilliant - good one Charles!
