only in.

by Andrew S Adams

snow falls on the creek while
the schoolbus passes by, creeping
through the density of traffic
unrivaled by any seen thus far;

trapped inside are vessels
held against their will along
these synaptic byways from the brain
to the heart;

meanwhile, the wiper blades move in
perfect rhythm to the drumbeat,
the passenger peers through the windshield
counting their intrusions into his daydream.
