TOPIC: I'd Rather Not Cry by Mark MaxeyIt’s cold inside my heart right now
Words formed can’t find their way out
I want to voice them…but I don’t want to hear them
You know there is no hope when no one else does
And tho it would be nice I'd Rather Not Cry
Bridges are built…but it takes workers to construct
And right now the workers are on strike
One could camp out and wait through the winter
But some bridges were never to intended to be built
And while its sad I'd Rather Not Cry
One can hope that in the spring words can be shared
But I think I have lost any trust in you to hold out for hope
You always did have a way with words…guess you always will
Tho with a forked tongue and dark soul there really is no hope
And while it would be appropriate I'd Rather Not Cry

Posted by Kyle Anne Kish on 01/20/05 at 10:21 PM Mark, you are surely on a roll with these topic poems and doing a super job. "One could camp out and wait through the winter
But some bridges were never to intended to be built
And while its sad I'd Rather Not Cry" <--- these lines especially caught me. Yes, some bridges never were intended to be built, but we built them and wait anyway. Sad. Yes, I'd Rather Not Cry. Thanks for the read.

Posted by Michele Schottelkorb on 01/21/05 at 01:41 PM it's hard not to cry when life gets you down... you have expressed this sentiment well... blessings :) |
