A Self Portrait in Sound by Amanda J CobbI am a symphony,
a harmonic cacophony -
the sound of laughter
of pages rustling, turning
of a camera shutter
of typing keys
the sound of a pen whirring over the lines
a piano concerto
an audience's applause
a curtain falling
the sound of a tear slipping down a cheek
of the muscles stretching into a smile
the sound of the ocean
the sound of the wind
the sound of flight
the sound of miles passing as the tires turn
a door opening
chocolates unwrapped
a cat purring
the sound of differences accepted
of things unspoken
my sisters' joys
my mother's sighs -
I am every note. 01/17/2005 Author's Note: A self portrait in words, not charcoal. Written for a booklet I have to do for my graphic design class.

Posted by Vimal Rony on 07/27/05 at 07:23 PM Very refreshing and highly unique.Visualising sounds and making sound visual and relating them to things is a highly creative stuff.Kudos to you.I like imaginations which are highly creative and this certainly is one of my fav poems here. |
