"Your name is tattooed on my heart" by Ava BluI tried to save you last night
Kicked down the door
You always kept locked from me
Your wrists were tattooed in red
Your lips were the perfect shade of blue
I took a picture to remind you
Your breaths were cold
I could see the poison in your veins
But your soul still remained
The medics came
And pumped your heart
I watched, with no tears, praying for a spark
The blood still flowed over gloria victis
I tried to catch it in my hands
But I lost your voice
The connection disappeared
I could no longer feel
I sang a fragmented song for you
Hoping your eyes were still real
I saved you last night
Even though you had doubts
Your soul heard the song
And once again
Love flowed through your heart. 01/07/2005 Author's Note: Stole the title from the band Screeching Weasel.
