I think I have forgot how to write

by Lisa-Dawn Sparling

I used to feel poetry every moment of everyday,

adding a line at every breath,

there was always something to write about,

I could taste the poetry, I could inhale it.

Now I have found that I am disconnected,

maybe so that someone else could take my spot,

and feel poetry in their bones for a while.

So at the moment all I can say is that I have forgotten how to write.

I often feel this way too, then the ol' muse hits me over the noggin' and I'm back in business. :o)

Nicely expressed.... I often ask myself, "Where Is My Muse?" and the answer is usually the same as, "Where is my love?" You'll find it, or him, or whatever inspires you. Last year I wrote 4 or 5 poems, partly because I wasn't here on Pathetic. I found that losing my friends here really took the wind out of my writing sails. You never know what it will be or when it will happen, but it always comes back and love usually has something to do with it. JJ
