Hope for Tomorrow

by Bek Williams

Is there hope for tomorrow?
Or will we drown in more sorrows?
Will you quit crying your tears?
Cos they just bind me to my fears

You're just a teenage icon
Don't know the difference between right and wrong
Just America's idol
Yeah, they love the way you smile

I hope you know what's good for yourself
But you put your good clean thoughts away on a shelf
I tried believing you were better
But my hopes were soon deterred

It seems you like the way things are
With all your money and your cars
But you don't know a thing about politics
You know you make me really sick

Is there shame in admitting?
That no punishment is fitting?
And your faith is gone
You never had it all along

The days they came and went
Your words got more and more bent
Is it just highs and lows?
I don't know, I don't know

I hope you know what's good for yourself
But you put your good, clean thoughts away on a shelf
I tried believiing you were better
But my hopes were soon deterred

It seems you like the way things are
With all your money and your cars
But you don't a thing about politics
You know you make me really sick

I hope you know what's good for yourself
Cos if you're the future
Then there's no hope for tomorrow
If you're the future
We're all done for
We're done in
