(Over and Under the Bridge) Now playing...

by Rommel Cruz

I’ve been here many times...

A swirling symphony of sorrows
Caress my tortured soul
With vagrant memories
I long wished will stay forgotten
And forever lost…

The blaring horns do nothing
But amplify
The cacophony of confusion
Each speeding taillight
So unceremoniously leaves…

The seducing waters below
Murmur promises of inner peace
And self-understanding
That I have eternally desired
And been unjustly denied…

I’ve been here so many times...

That even the most fickle
Of solutions
Seems unquestionably tempting

Author's Note: Even if the poem may suggest otherwise, no, I'm not suicidal and no, I do not advocate suicide as a means to "solve" one's problems. original title was suicide bridge

This has got to be your best work to date, Rommel. This is an amazing presentation that serves as the ultimate wake up call for every reader. Obviously you've given this poem your full attention and deepest thoughts. I especially like your effective use of alliteration in the second line. Good stuf! Pe4ce...

Yeah, seems to me like someone staring at water, thinking. Reads well and flows
