Chicken Licken(Lickin')(Liken)(Liquen)

by Charles J Hannan

I went to the fridge for a snack
Barbecue chicken was were it was at

I devoured that bird as a piranha would
The cats only stared and wished that they could

For nothing was safe within my grasp
My savage display makes vegetarians gasp

Not even stopping to come up for air
I buried in deep clean up to my hair

Thinking of that chicken that crossed the road
As I stripped the last meat from the thigh bone

She had to at one time been pretty fast
But her little legs they ran out of gas

I guess she forgot that birds can fly
Oh well no need at this point to even try
