Secret Lover (Un-rhymed sonnet) by Paganini JonesI do not ask for much from one I'd love.
I do not need a god of awesome looks
or strength, or technical ability.
I don't much care if he be tall or short.
Rich or poor? Why care for passing wealth
when what I crave would last eternity?
I do not ask for much from one I'd love,
but just a man, much like any other
save in this one respect - he'd hold my love
but never take it as his given right.
He'd cherish it, a hidden garden
buried deep within his secret soul, and
I would dwell secure within that place, as
gardener to tend, and grow, and love for ever.

Posted by JD Clay on 02/02/05 at 04:06 PM That is the most endearing piece of poetry I have come across in modern times. It is only fitting that this fine effort sends you into the Pathetic Hall of Champions. Congratulations, Pag!
