Secret Lover (Un-rhymed sonnet)

by Paganini Jones

I do not ask for much from one I'd love.
I do not need a god of awesome looks
or strength, or technical ability.
I don't much care if he be tall or short.
Rich or poor? Why care for passing wealth
when what I crave would last eternity?
I do not ask for much from one I'd love,
but just a man, much like any other
save in this one respect - he'd hold my love
but never take it as his given right.
He'd cherish it, a hidden garden
buried deep within his secret soul, and
I would dwell secure within that place, as
gardener to tend, and grow, and love for ever.

What more or less could one ask for of a potential lover. Superby expressed Pag. Have added it to my favorties.

That is the most endearing piece of poetry I have come across in modern times. It is only fitting that this fine effort sends you into the Pathetic Hall of Champions. Congratulations, Pag! Pe4ce..

I'm really liking the "god of awesome looks" line. If only everyone felt that way..nice work..
