time's mirror

by Charlie Morgan

time's mirror

when i glance over my shoulder
and see time's mirror,
it's foggy and cracked.

it's reflection returns to me
on wispy waves of summer heat
making a wrinkle in my vista.

as i slide in through cracks of memory,
skirt the sharp edges of reality
that is hidden by the fog,

i arrive at a most welcome spot;
an oasis, a merv, where all
men are as free as mountains.

Charlie, this is like a refreshing breeze on aging. Thanks! :) Kyle Anne
