Two, One, None

by Shonda Chrissonberry

I had a dream...
Two people falling
Reaching for each
A connection of hearts
and I dreamt of you.

I felt a need...
To become one
A beautiful union
Inside and outside
and I needed you.

I found a love...
So pure for an instant
Loosing its hold
Now bleeding to death
and I loved you.

I endured a loss...
Where did you go?
How did we get here?
Here is nothing
and I lost you.

In the end there was...
Small bits of us
Yearning for hope
Composed of blistering numbness
and I miss you.

But most of all there is...
The dream born
from a need
given birth to
our love dying
in it's loss
missing it all.

Two became One
now we are None.

And I cry.

I chose the view poetry by random and am glad I did, am finding some great gems! I like this, the last three lines are powerful to me.
