Dance With Me

by Christopher Shin

Dance with me as
I glide through the
glistening dance floor.
Let all memories
of my past melt with
the music that taunts me.

I feel free as all
creatures that can
flutter in the sky
yet never feel the
burn of the sun.

Dance with me as
as I slowly melt
the sadness that
encases my heart.
Let me feel the
warmth of my life
on the dance floor.

Hold me close as
I twirl you away
from me for a minute
or two in time,
but don't let go
cause in that minute
I miss you deeply.

Dance with me as
I dip you and stare
into the pools that
can only reflect
my happiness and
lack of weariness
in this world.

You're right, Christopher, what a coincidence that we BOTH wrote a poem about dancing on the same day. Our "takes" are quite different but encase the beauty of dreams, along with reality, in a rich masterful way. I truly like your poem. Kyle Anne
