All you men (I will knock you down)

by Deborah S Regan

you keep knocking me down

so I left town

and the other m.f.’s here

took a page right out

all you men with your spare tires

won’t leave me alone at the gym,

I’m either too fat or too thin

I don’t need you to tell me what’s going down…

All you men looking at my resume,

See my baby as a check in a ledger

Against me

All you men choking me out

When I can write my name in blood

On your cold Formica

I will tear down your plastic walls

And your tenement halls

And your Wal-Mart wages

And desecrate your SUV’S

And throw away your OTC’S

And scratch your DVD’S

And put the fish back in the sea.

I don’t have to love Dick Cheney

I DON’T HAVE TO LOVE DICK CHENEY

To be in God’s house.

And you are temporary

Your town is temporary

And I will knock you down

Timely and powerful read in the wake of the Presential debates. I was hooked right from line one.
