Selective

by Maureen Glaude

the sun is boastful, blatant
matinées overcrowded
instead give us the moonÂ’s
gentle luminescence
the silk of her solace
the sultry darkÂ’s discretion
wrap us together in the hours
of stealthy creatures, coming
out when no-oneÂ’s watching
for the première of our love

To use this poem's own words, very selective, stealthy and with much discretion. Stirs primitive, long lost feelings in me.

Given the supreme laws of nature, I suppose the choice we're faced with is whether we care to embrace it. Your superb poem spells it out perfectly, Maureen..pe4ce

This association with the 'moon’s gentle luminescence' is so positive and beautiful.
