Every Good Song by Marjorie Anne ReaganSaying good-bye to you
is like saying good-bye
to my favorite song.
Never able to listen
to the beauty of your voice
or see your body sway
The sweet smile
from whence the words
are sung
Sweet love we made
to every good song
every note etched in heartfelt memory
all should be so lucky just once in thier life
all should be so lucky
like having heaven in your hands
and having to let it go
what for
Every good song
still plays on the radio
on Cd and in my heart
I cannot say goodbye to
the very soul of me
Every good song
reminds me of being with you
and my love for music
now stings
every good song
used to bring a lilt to my voice
and boost to my step
now the tunes remind me
of what I have lost
and the love we shared
Saying goodbye to you
is like saying goodbye to every good song
for a musical fish like me
one who eats breathes and sleeps music
it's like being out of water
saying good bye to you
still listening to every
good song trying to breathe
the last breath before
getting tossed ashore
by this storm plagued life
Now you are just a memory
becoming more distant
my wounds reopened
by my love for you and every good song.
The music still plays
and the dancers have gone
the soul still prays
the last note has played out
do you think of me when the radios on
We did it so loving so long and
so sweet
to every good song
you will always be every good song
