Tea 4 - after time served

by Mary Ellen Smith

Hello Dearie,

Just dropping you a little line
To let you know that we are fine.
After court and our conviction
The apt. manager and our eviction,
We worked and paid our restitution
I spent that time at the institution.
Now we find ourselves here in L.A.
Looking for a place to stay.

Now hopefully you’ll overlook
How many stitches that it took.
The plastic surgeon we hope my dear
Was able to repair your ear.
Tsk tsk that really was a fright!
I really didn’t think he’d bite!
No worries dearie you see, for sure
My Damn cat now is more mature.

We are staying at a local inn
But nerves here seem a little thin.
The manager gives us one more day.
Damn Cat it seems likes his toupee.
I don’t see why the big old fuss
Or why he felt he had to cuss
Some people it seems don’t like my cat
I know its hard to imagine that!

So, I really do hate to impose
But wondered dearie, do you suppose
That we could come and stay with you
Just two or three days would nicely do.
And we could catch up you and me
Over some nice fresh steeped tea.
We’ll be there then tween nine and ten
Can’t wait dear, ok till then!

Sincerely yours,
Damn cat and me
